Theme
This meeting’s theme is Big Data and Scalability: Variants of IoT Platforms and will focus on cloud based IoT platforms and how they are used.

Many companies are adopting IoT platforms to ensure Scalability and Big Data capabilities, yet many companies still face challenges in trying to go to scale, since configuring the generic cloud platforms in a correct way requires certain skills.

Therefore, a multitude of specialized IoT platforms emerge in order to make time to market and ability to scale simpler for the companies adopting the platforms. This can also inspire you how to improve your platform.

In the Big Data and Scalability: Variants of IoT Platforms meeting, we will start with an introduction to IoT platforms. What do they contain and how are they compared?

Then we will deep-dive into the IoT strategies of two of the largest cloud platform suppliers in the world: IBM and Microsoft.

We will hear about differences between the technical priorities of the two, and how the strategy for development is leading. Following this, some state-of-the-art commercially available variations of these platforms will be presented – for you to get inspired on the possibilities, but also for you to see how various IoT platforms, based on the same cloud platforms, can function. And possibly why you should adopt one of the platforms in your organisation?
